Parallel history?

Parallel history? In 450 – 550 AD, the Huns overran Europe and the middle-East. The people from small towns all moved into the major cities that had walls, thus concentrating the population. In 541 AD a plague broke out, spread mostly in those population centers and killed 25 million people, about 13% of the world’s population.

Today’s population has likewise concentrated in major cities over the past 100 years — not fleeing war but seeking employment and/or entertainment and/or government handouts. If not the corona virus (or COVID-19 as it has been named), the odds are high for a pandemic spreading sooner or later through that concentration of the population.

The last pandemic was The Great Flu Epidemic (1918) which killed somewhere between 20 and 40 million people. That one was a virus also.
