Personal Theology

To what church do I belong?

Some who have read my book or seen it advertised or who have seen my posts on Facebook or seen my writing elsewhere ask, “To what church do you belong?”

I have no formal affiliation with any human religious group. I have visited Bible classes and religious services with many organizations over the years and have friends and acquaintances in dozens of various denominations, the Catholic church, and independent churches.

I trust that God has accepted me as a member of the church that Jesus founded and that is the only one that I defend and promote.

My belief is that the person who is a member of God’s church is one who believes that Jesus was the Christ, the son of God, born of a virgin, that He lived a life without sin, that He died on the stake for all of our sins, that He established a New Covenant that encompasses every human being, that He spent three days and three nights in the tomb and was resurrected to immortal life and returned to the abode of God the Father where He sits at the Father’s right hand today.

I consider any person who shares that belief a brother or sister in Christ.

Since the Bible is our only reliable source of authority, one who totally doubted its authenticity I would consider an “unbeliever” — still a worthy, unique person but not the same as my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Every person is at a different stage of understanding but each is a unique individual and valuable in God’s eyes and should be treated with respect and Christian love. True religion is a personal thing between an individual and God.

I have surrendered my very being to God and love God with all my heart, soul and mind and my neighbor as myself. I fail often but strive to keep God’s commandments and to become what God made me capable of becoming.

It is my belief that sometime before too long, Christians – whatever organization with which they choose to assemble – will compartmentalize the relatively minor differences and begin to work together as God would have us do. This will be the beginning of a new spiritual awakening in America and Western Civilization and will make the world a better place for us and for our children and grandchildren to live.

My book and my teaching promote only that one church. The book is based on 35+ years of Bible study and historical research. The first 4 chapters are based strictly on the Bible and is intended for those who are not truly familiar with the scriptures; the 5th through the 8th chapters begin in the 1st Century A.D. and trace the growth of the church and the path of God’s chosen people and the eventual rise of Western Civilization using extensive secular history.

The book begins with Abraham and ends in our time. It demonstrates how God has moved people, kings, kingdoms and Empires to bring about His will.

I find it an awesome, wonderful panorama – the picture of God’s plan for His people. It took 18 months of hard work to put it into the form of a book that anyone can read and understand.
